Peace be with you

Welcome to The One True Church

A home for the Catholic Faith: prayer, Scripture, the teaching of the Church, miracles and signs, sacred art, and a quiet place to grow.

Gospel of the day

Monday of the 27th week in Ordinary Time

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

Matthew 5:3–10

What happens at Mass

A film for someone who has never been to Mass, or who has been and was never told what they were seeing. It stays with the Consecration: the Priest speaks the words of Christ, and the bread and wine become Jesus.

What Happens During Mass? (A Visual Film on the Consecration). Catholic Aesthetics, on YouTube, under their terms. The film plays here. If the player does not start, open the same film on YouTube.

Gospel of the day

Monday of the 27th week in Ordinary Time

Not a feast in this short calendar. The passage rotates through the World English Bible so the day still opens on Scripture. It is not the three-year Roman Lectionary. The Gospel at Mass is the one your parish reads.
