In this chair
Pope Bl. Benedict the Eleventh is listed as the 194th Bishop of Rome in the common chronology of the popes, from 1303 – 1304. The Holy See does not officially number the pontiffs. What is sure is the succession: this man sat in the chair that begins with Peter.
