Pope John the Twenty-Second

In this chair

Pope John the Twenty-Second is listed as the 196th Bishop of Rome in the common chronology of the popes, from 1316 – 1334. The Holy See does not officially number the pontiffs. What is sure is the succession: this man sat in the chair that begins with Peter.
