Pope John the Twenty-First

In this chair

Pope John the Twenty-First is listed as the 187th Bishop of Rome in the common chronology of the popes, from 1276 – 1277. The Holy See does not officially number the pontiffs. What is sure is the succession: this man sat in the chair that begins with Peter.

Return to the rail — scroll left for Peter.
