The Holy House
A small house of brick, sheathed in marble, which tradition says is the house of Nazareth — brought by angels, or by a medieval rescue, depending on which historian you ask. Popes have gone. The Litany of Loreto was born here. You go because the Incarnation had an address.

The pilgrimage
To pray the Annunciation in a room the size of a room.
Whether the stones flew or were shipped, the Church has prayed here as Nazareth-in-Italy for centuries.
Our Lady of Loreto is patron of aviation. Pilgrims still arrive by air, which is a joke the house can take.
The apparition, the Gospel sign, the body, the image — whatever this place is known for, told as a file of its own.

A small stone house, now inside a basilica, claimed to be the house of the Holy Family, carried from Nazareth by angels — or, as later historians prefer, by the princely family of Angeli. Popes have piled privileges on it. Archaeologists argue.

The central Catholic claim: the eternal Son of God took a human nature in the womb of Mary. Every later miracle is a footnote to this one.

Jesus is conceived in Mary without a human father. The Church holds this as history, not as a metaphor for a spiritually impressive child.
