Chaplet of St. Michael

After the Leonine prayer, in spiritual warfare, on Michaelmas (29 September).

St. Michael the Archangel — appearances, prayers, the whole page

This chaplet honors St. Michael and the nine choirs of angels. On the medal: “O God, come to my assistance. O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory Be.”

Where it comes from

Revealed to Antonia d’Astonac; approved by Pius IX in 1851. Nine salutations, one for each choir: Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones, Dominations, Powers, Virtues, Principalities, Archangels, Angels. Each: one Our Father and three Hail Marys, then “Holy Michael, defend us.”

  • After the nine choirs: four Our Fathers in honor of St. Michael, St. Gabriel, St. Raphael, and your guardian angel. Close with the Prayer to St. Michael.
